I had a wonderful stay at this hotel in Canico. I was looking for a relaxing holiday with the option of doing some island tours and diving, and this place was perfect. The location is amazing, right on the cliff edge with breathtaking sea views. The room was very clean and quiet, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The facilities, including the pools, steam room, and jetty for entering the sea, were all fantastic. The breakfast was also very good, with a wide variety of delicious options. I especially appreciated the small kitchen in the room, which was well-equipped with everything I needed. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the view from the hotel was just stunning.
Can't recommend highly enough this hotel.

Our room number was 306. Only good feelings I had while was there. Good people of staff. Good room facilities. We cooked every evening in our personal mini-kitchen. Transfer to Funchal 3 times in day. They have chess game in lobby (it was good surprise for me) and I played many games there.
No musical tv channel. Sometimes it's pleasant to listen to music at evening, but there are no any musical channel on tv.

Splendid location, nice ocean view. Airco can heat as well. Music events in the bar almost every evening. Breakfast is OK (but the horrible coffee), one can have it on the terrace. The beds at the concrete beach are available for free.
There is no sound insulation towards corridor, cleaning lady comes with trolley at 7:30 every morning on tiles: tac-tac-tac. Also, when the eraliest bird neightbour gets up and leaves the room, you have no chance to sleep more. Style is rather simple. Facilities are available in the adjacent hotel (Orchid): sweet-water swimming pool, gymn etc. Overall, it equals to a designless 3 star hotel according to Central-European standards than to a 4 star one.

Breathtaking Views
I stayed at this incredible resort and was blown away by the stunning views. From my balcony, I could see the beautiful cliffs and hear the waves crashing against them. It was the perfect place to relax and unwind. The resort itself was well-maintained and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The food at the buffet was delicious, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I especially loved the swimming pools, which were clean and inviting. I had an amazing experience at this resort and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and picturesque getaway.

During my recent business trip to Madeira, I had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Roca Mar in Canico. This hotel, chosen by my director, exceeded my expectations in many ways. One of the highlights of my stay was the natural seawater pool, which provided a refreshing and unique swimming experience. The privileged direct sea access and solarium were also fantastic amenities that allowed me to soak up the sun and admire the beautiful coastal scenery. The hotel's commitment to providing these facilities truly enhanced my overall experience.
Although my stay at Hotel Roca Mar was mostly enjoyable, there was one minor drawback that I encountered.

The location was very good, the "beach" on the rocks below the hotel is great. The place where the breakfast is served is also very nice. The hotel is close to few but very nice restaurants. Rooms are big and comfortable. Nice terrace to each room.
The breakfast was ok, but more poore than rich. After few days not many choices and the juices are really bad tasting - since it is not juice but some powder mixed with water.

Lovely views from the rooms and common areas. The variety of food in the restaurants was great, and the staff were very friendly. We also enjoyed the courtesy bus which was a bonus.
The hotel needs some updating in terms of the decor, and the room amenities were outdated. , it could get noisy at night due to thin walls.
